28 Sept 2002 - John Major had affair with Edwina Currie
Former Prime Minister John Major and his Conservative colleague Edwina Currie had a four-year love affair when serving as ministers, Mrs Currie said today.
The affair began in 1984 when Mr Major was a government whip and Mrs Currie a backbencher, she said in her diaries, which are being serialised in The Times newspaper.

July 1999 - Tory candidate jailed for indecent images of children
A teacher and former Tory parliamentary candidate was jailed for child Net porn offences yesterday.
Michael Powell, 51, was sentenced to three years by Cardiff Crown Court for downloading 16,600 pictures of children from the Web.

Making Indecent Images of Children
02 Dec 2002 - Disgraced Tory Councillor Peter Stidworthy was today jailed for 21 months after admitting a string of child sex offences.
Stidworthy, aged 47, of Lyndale Road, Whoberley, Coventry, admitted indecent assault on a 15-year-old boy, 21 charges of making indecent images of children and one charge of possessing an indecent image.
The bus driver for Travel West Midlands represents the Whoberley area of Coventry for the Conservative Party. He has been suspended from the party since the charges first became known.

16 July 2004 - Tories throw out Councillor over 40-year criminal record
Father-of-two Robert Richdale stood as a "family man" in the elections for Folkestone town council last month. But since 1963, the 54-year-old has been convicted of crimes including causing death by dangerous driving, drugs offences, and sexual offences involving girls under 16. He has served a total of more than three years in prison.

Fraud & False Expenses Charges
22 Mar 2019 - Chris Davies: Conservative MP pleads guilty to false expense charges
Conservative MP Christopher Davies has pleaded guilty to two charges of submitting false expense invoices.
The Brecon and Radnorshire MP admitted to the charges when he appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
He admitted one charge of providing false or misleading information for allowances claims.
The offence related to an incident in March 2016, where he claimed under the MPs’ allowances scheme before providing an invoice he knew to be incorrect.

Online Violent Threats on Social Media
07 Feb 2020 - Tory candidate jailed for violent threats against West Yorkshire MP Yvette Cooper.
A Conservative Party activist who said he wanted to get a West Yorkshire MP 'beaten up' because of her stance on Brexit, has been jailed.
In April 2019, James Spencer made abusive and threatening comments about the Pontefract, Normanton and Castleford MP Yvette Cooper on Facebook.
He sent a Facebook message to a third party relating to Yvette Cooper MP, stating: "I’m already organising her to her hurt. Amazing what crack heads will do for £100. I’m gonna get her beat up”
The former Tory council candidate pleaded guilty and has been sentenced to nine weeks' in prison.

30 July 2020 - Former Conservative MP found guilty of sexual assault
Charlie Elphicke, 49, whose wife Natalie succeeded him last year as the Member of Parliament for Dover in southern England, was charged with committing the first offence in 2007 against one individual and two further offences against a second person in 2016.

Tory MP accused of rape has bail date extended to November as police investigation continues
A Conservative MP accused of rape has had his bail date extended until November as a police investigation continues.
The change has raised questions over whether the former minister, in his 50s, will return to parliament when it returns from summer recess in two weeks.
The Conservative Party has been criticised for refusing to suspend the MP, after initially being approached by the complainant in April.
The man was arrested on 1 August after the police received allegations of rape and sexual assault in four separate incidents.
